Lake Review by Music Blog ‘Mismatch’

Last year indie/pop band The Evening Cast released their debut EP Lake. The five-piece worked with producer Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch, Art of Fighting) and Joe Laporta (Bjork, Foo Fighters). The result is a gorgeous 7 track EP full of lush layered harmonies and instrumentation.

The guitar hooks in opening song ‘Knots And Bows’ quickly won me over. While the remainder of the EP drew me in slowly. From upbeat tracks ‘Surprise’ and ‘Heartbeat’ to darker songs like ‘No Stopping’. The EP is full of sweet melodies, catchy choruses and strong arrangements.
